Koutavos Lagoon

Koutavos Lagoon is in Argostoli. One of the most beautiful places in the capital town. It is probably named after the ancient word "Kottavos", meaning wash bowl.

Lagoon can give you the pleasure to feed the turtles caretta caretta and see wild ducks, black headed hens and white swans, a variety of fish and a stop for many migrating birds. Walk along the lagoon coast line and enjoy the variety of trees and flowers that surround Koutavos. Or explore the lagoon by getting an electric or pedal boat.  You can also have a drink or a snack in the coffee bars by the lagoon.
